1981 to 1985 - Product Manager, Advanced Manufacturing Systems, Kennametal, Inc., Raleigh, NC.  Duties involved electronics systems analysis and evaluation for advanced manufacturing systems used in the machine tool industry.  Developed marketing and sales support plans and strategies for machine tool monitoring and tool wear analysis systems, electronic gauge and tool position controls, and tool wear and breakage analysis.  Trained and supported sales staff, produced technical and marketing literature, and coordinated trade shows.  Worked closely with Research and Development teams in specifying new product development and introduction strategies.
